These unprecedented times have affective many people, organizations and communities. As a member of the the Chapter, it is important to us to provide you with the tools, knowledge, guidance and support to navigate through and out of this challenging time.
Historically, we have focused organizing an Annual Job fair as a means to bring professionals in career transition, hiring and recruiting companies together to optimize available opportunities in the employment market. This year with fewer hiring and recruiting companies with much smaller lists of openings, we decided to focus on a broader venue leveraging our annual PM Day of Excellence to deliver several events during the same day with different purposes and different audiences.
During the afternoon, our Job Fair (while much smaller this year) has been combined with the Career Day as a way to allow you to not only present your resume to those companies that are participating but also to leverage a powerful networking event with your colleagues, learn more about what our partners are offering in terms of services and tools for the Project Management community and participate in a variety of educational programs and one-on-one sessions with career coach specialists available to you in parallel to the rest of the activities with the objective of help you develop entrepreneurial, consulting skills, manage your career transitions, and employability.
Our schedule includes:
- One on One. You will have the opportunity to talk 15 mins with any of four different specialists on Resume Review, Job Search Strategies, Financial Planning and Interview Skill; arrive early to book your appointment with one of the coaches.
- Panel Discussion. Hiring managers and Recruiting Specialists will discuss what are the current and future perspectives of the job market.
- Career Day Presentations: Winning Job Search Strategies, How to land in a new job through volunteering, How to become a successful entrepreneur creating your own company or as a consultant
- Networking sessions with partners, sponsors, recruiting and hiring companies
Later in the afternoon, we will close the Career Day with two guest speakers (Mr. Hugo Perez and Mr. Mark Hehl) will discuss how to differentiate oneself as an employee and as an entrepreneur in today’s market
If you are a member of the PMI South Florida Chapter, ISACA or ASTD the Job Fair / Career Day are complimentary and you may receive up to 3 PDUs for attending this event; you just have to register using the link below.

The presentations delivered during the Career Day are educational and informative to those professionals operating in the field of project management and functioning in leadership roles in industry and government. Each session is worth 1 Professional Development Unit (PDU) each to certified PMPs. Continued certification as a PMP requires the accumulation of these valuable credits and we are pleased to offer this opportunity to obtain both the important training and the educational credit associated with it.
